Fire Guts Shop Near Wa Goil Station
At midday on Wednesday, a fire gutted a container shop situated near a filling station in Wa in the Upper West Region.
“Firefighters swiftly responded to a raging fire outbreak, which involved a container shop adjacent to the GOIL fuel filling station in Wa,” the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said in a statement.
Personnel responded to the scene to avert an escalation which could have been deadly.
“A crew was immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving the call at 1206 hours and swiftly brought the fire under control at 1223 hours and finally extinguished it at 1234 hours.”
Meanwhile, it said the fire was stopped from spreading to adjacent and adjoining shops including the filling station.
“The hardworking Firefighters confined the fire in the single container and prevented it from spreading to the other eight shops and the fuel filling station right behind the containers.”
