Bawumia Receives Highest National Honour

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has bestowed on Vice President and unsuccessful Presidential aspirant, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the country’s highest honorary award.

He was honoured alongside other Ministers, Members of Parliament, members of the creative arts industry and media for their exceptional contributions to the country over the years.

He received the Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Award on December 30, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The awards recognized citizens who have excelled in their various fields of national endeavour for their meritorious services, hard work, sacrifices and contributions to national development.

Other awardees were Daddy Lumba, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Erastus Asare Donkor, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Bryan Acheampong, John Peter Amewu, Joe Osei Owusu, Francis Asenso Boakye, Samuel Abu Jinapor and Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.

The categories included the Grand Medal Awardees, Order of the Volta – Officer Awardees, Order of the Volta – Member Awardees, Order of the Volta – Companion Awardees, Order of the Star of Ghana – Member Awardees and Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Awardee.
