Kotoko Players Celebrates Christmas with Asantehene
The playing body, technical body and management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club made a show at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday to pay homage to the King of the Asante Kingdom.
They were led by Nana Akwasi Apinkra, Kontomponiaferihene who serves as the head of the Interim Management Committee set up to oversee the management of the Club of the Century.
The team headed by Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum included Federick Asare, Mohammed Camara, Seidu Fatao, Lord Amoah, Henry Ansu, Patrick Asiedu, Joseph Ablorh, Samba O’neil, Emmanuel Antwi, Justice Blay, Michael Dwamena, Andrews Ntim, Sheriff Mohammed, Samuel Tenadu, Amidu Peters, Baba Yahaya, Elvis Kyei Baffour and Dauda Saaka
The King set aside December 25, 2024, to celebrate the Christmas festivity with his subjects and employees.
He sat in state at the Afia Kobi Park at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi where he received homage and blessed all his subjects including his courtiers and numerous employees for their services throughout the year.
All were afforded the rare opportunity not just to pay homage but to receive his blessings through handshakes.
Hundreds showed up at the occasion to reaffirm their loyalty and commitment to the King as well as share in the occasion.
