Callistus Mahama isn’t Related to Mahama- Joyce Bawa Mogtari

Joyce Bawa Mogtari has dispelled anticipations that President-elect John Dramani Mahama will be running a “family and friends” government after including Dr Callistus Abukari Mahama in the members of his transition team.

It was widely assumed that the two were related by blood, however, an aide to the President-elect, clarified that the impression was erroneous.

In a Facebook post, she said, “Dr Callistus Abukari Mahama has no familial relations with the #PresidentElect, HE John Dramani Mahama! Kindly take note.”

Responding to a comment that suggested it was not illegal to appoint a relative of the President to a government position, she emphasized, “He is not a member of #PresidentElects family. That is the fact that I am putting out because what Ayikoi Otoo said is a lie.”

“Please we are not even talking about qualifications I beg you. The NPP big man has told us a lie to the whole world and that is unfair and wrong and has to be corrected.”

Among the members appointed by the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama are Hon. Julius Debrah, Co-Chairperson and Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.

Also included are Dr Callistus Mahama, Dr Valerie Sawyer, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, Hon. Dr Cassiel Ato Forson Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Hon. Goosie Tanoh, and Dr. Edward Omane Boamah
