Return All Gov’t Vehicles By Jan 3- Presidency
The Jubilee House has directed all government officials to return state vehicles in their possession by January 3, 2025.
They are to deliver the vehicles to the Chief Director of the relevant Ministries.
“For clarity, all Ministers of State, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers, Special Assistants, Special Aides to the President and Vice President, and other political appointees, including those serving as Chairpersons or Members of Statutory Boards and Corporations, are required to comply strictly with this directive,” a statement signed by the Director of Communication at the Jubilee House directed.
Unlike in the previous administration where appointees where allowed to acquire one official saloon vehicle through valuation by the State Transport Company Ltd., the statement said President Akufo-Addo was committed to accountability and taking responsibility for the management of state resources.
“No official vehicle shall be acquired by any appointee of the current administration as the term concludes.
All government officials have thus been urged to cooperate.
“The Office of the President anticipates the cooperation of all appointees in adhering to this important measure.”
A National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would be taking over the administration of the country beginning January 7, 2024.
