Sekondi Hasaacas Player Dies In Motor Accident

Kwabena Baidoo, a former Division One side Sekondi Hasaacas FC player has died following the victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the weekend.

Baidoo was said to be a polling agent for Kukua Bissue, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Ahanta West Constituency in the elections.

The player is said to have met his untimely death in a motor accident while escorting pink sheets and ballot boxes for the Constituency to the collation centre on Saturday.

Per cited recounts by his brother, Emmanuel Quarm, he was conveyed to the Axim Government Hospital where he died on Sunday.

“Kwabena was overjoyed because his candidate won at his polling station. After the counting at his polling station showed his candidate had won, he was in high spirits. On his way to the collation centre, he was involved in an accident. His motorbike crashed, and he hit his head on the road. He was rushed to the Axim Government Hospital but sadly passed away early Sunday morning,” 3News quotes him as saying.

Arrangements for his burial are yet to be communicated by the family.
