2024 Elections: Akufo-Addo Votes
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has voted in the ongoing polls.
Together with the First Lady, H.E Rebecca Akufo-Addo, they cast their votes at the Rock of Ages Polling Station in Kyebi.
In a Facebook post, the President announced he had voted characterizing the process as simple and smooth.
From his observation, the election had generally been peaceful, transparent, free and fair.
“Just before midday today, the First Lady and I, were at the Rock of Ages Polling Station in Kyebi, to cast our votes in an election that was simple and smooth and according to reports, generally peaceful, transparent, free and fair.”
He further encouraged electorates to “continue this show of commitment to democratic outcomes, under this prevalent atmosphere of calm and peace.”
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has also cast his vote.
He underwent the exercise at Calvary Presby at Haatso-Dome-Kwabenya.
Voting has been taking place across 40,648 polling stations in 276 Constituencies with pickets of shooting incidents, and electoral malpractices by both voters and Electoral Commission (EC) officials.
This year, a total of 18,774,159 people were registered to vote in the elections.
