CLOGSAG to Strike on Thursday
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a strike action effective November 7, 2024.
This follows the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission’s failure to finalise the new salary structure for implementation next year for its members, it said in a press statement issued by the Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo.
According to the Association, the Commission has “acted in bad faith” from the onset of the drafting of a new salary structure for its members.
“To date, the understanding that by October 31, 2024, both parties would finalise the new salary structure for staff of Civil and Local Government to be implemented on January 1 continues to be a mirage.”
The statement issued on November 4 further read, “As a result of the long delay in the implementation of a salary structure and other conditions of service for staff of the Civil and Local Government, Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has no other option than to ask our members to stay at home from Thursday, October 7, 2024.”
