NDC-NPP Clash: ¢20k Bounty Placed on Wanted Suspect
As days go by without any hope of getting public assistance in arresting Fatau Motorway who was captured by CCTV holding a gun during a clash between supporters of the two main political parties at Mamobi in the Greater Accra Region, the police have placed a ¢20,000 bounty on his head.
Any individual who will furnish the police with any significant information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect will be offered this reward.
“A reward of GhC20,000 has been offered for anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest.”
Clash
Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) engaged in a violent confrontation on Sunday, October 13, 2024, while both were undertaking campaign walks in the area.
This resulted in the firing of guns and fisticuffs that ended in injuries to nine persons.
Wanted
Fatau Motorway was exposed by CCTV footage and was declared wanted accordingly.
The police also urged the public to assist in locating and arresting him.
“The images of the suspect, who is identified by his pseudonym as Fatau Motorway, are attached, and we urge members of the public to support us with credible information as we continue our intelligence-led operation to get him and other perpetrators arrested to face justice.”
Arrest
Meanwhile, one person has been arrested for his connection to the disturbance.
His arrest was confirmed in a press statement issued earlier on Monday, October 14 after the investigation commenced.
“So far, one person has been arrested in connection with the incident and the Police are working around the clock to get all identified perpetrators arrested to face justice.”
