C/R: Father Arrested For Physically Assaulting 20-Year-Old Daughter

Nana Amo Abraham, a resident of Twifo Praso in the Central Region is in police custody for allegedly physically assaulting her daughter and leaving her with a serious bruise to her back.

He is said to have spanked the 20-year-old, a hairdressing apprentice for coming home late in the night after work, suspecting she had visited her boyfriend.

According to the lady, her father locked her out of their room while she was taking a bath and refused to let her in when she returned home around 11 p.m. that night.

Incident
In an interview with Oyerepa FM monitored by opemsuo.com, she said she broke into the room at dawn to get herself clothes and her bag which contained some money. She realized later on that the money in her bag had gone missing.

It was confirmed to her that her father had taken it, prompting her to confront him about it. It was during the confrontation that Amo Abraham allegedly subjected her to a brutal physical assault that left her with a serious injury.

Arrest
The incident was reported to the police by sympathisers leading to his arrest on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

“The suspect, according to Police investigation, physically assaulted his daughter, following a disagreement, and inflicted bodily harm on her,” the Ghana Police Service confirmed in a statement.

He is currently in custody assisting the investigation and will be put before court, it added.

Meanwhile, the Police have made arrangements for the victim to be taken to the Police Hospital in Accra for further medical care.
