Asantehemaa Pats Chief of Staff For Shouldering Responsibility of Markets

The Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III has patted the President’s Chief of Staff, Hon Akosua Fremah Osei Opare for her selfless and commendable dedication to the wellbeing of marketplaces and traders particularly in her kingdom.

Her Majesty affirmed that Hon Fremah Opare’s acts – which she observed from her Palace- deserves to be publicly acknowledged.

The Asantehemaa highlighted how the politician has willingly shouldered the responsibility of markets and hastily responds to her call for intervention whenever these marketplaces- traditionally under her authority- are in need.

“Thank you for your dedication. My prayers will always be with you,” she said through her Chief Linguist, Eseresohemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom when the country’s first female chief of staff called on her at her Palace on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Hon Frema Opare passed through the Palace accompanied by market Queens and some supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to pay homage to the Queen upon her arrival in the Ashanti Region.

In her address, she said she had missed her mother and thought it empirical to seek her and draw from her counsel.

“It’s been a while since I saw my mother and so I had to come here today to see her. Though we have been having phone conversations, I had to come here today to visit, abreast myself with her welfare and seek her counsel.”

She continued, “I am overjoyed to see my beautiful mother today. She is looking beautiful as always. My heart desire is for God to grant her longevity so that I always come to meet her here when I visit for direction.”

Among her presents was a portrait of the Queen of Asanteman.

Inspection
The Chief of Staff to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is in the region purposely to inspect various projects she personally sanctioned.

The 77-year-old told the Queen she will visit the Kumasi Race Course Market to inspect the reconstruction of stalls- a project she funded- after about 300 stalls were razed down in a fire on March 11, 2024.

From there, she told the Queen she would visit Juaben to inspect another project.
