Father of Stabbed Student to Sue O’Reilly SHS
Mr Enoch Sackey, the father of the form three O’Reilly Senior High School student who was stabbed to death by a colleague intends to sue the school for negligence.
The grieving father is bent on holding the school responsible for the incident which claimed the life of his son.
“My intention is to sue the school and hold them responsible. We want the school authorities to tell us how such a thing happened on the school premises. Nobody interrupted until my son was stabbed. I’m going to hold the school accountable. I will sue them,” he said in an interview with CNR.
The incident transpired on September 2 at the school’s premises when an ensuing dispute between the deceased, Edward Borketey Sackey and his colleague student about whose father was richer turned tragic after the former was stabbed thrice, according to reports.
Recounting the series of events that led to his son’s untimely death, Mr Sackey said the tutors were around when the scuffle started, however, they loitered around unconcerned.
The family as of Tuesday noon had not received any formal communication from the school’s authorities while efforts to reach them had proven unsuccessful, Mr Sakey told the media as the bereaved family gathered at the school’s entrance on September 3.
“The school authority has not said anything from yesterday up till now. The police have not called, the school authority has not called, even the boy who killed my son, nor the family have even reached me. That is why we are here to seek justice for my son.”
