The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has provided an update to the public on the road accident involving the technical team of the Black Stars.
In a statement, it said Otto Addo, the Head Coach, John Paintsil, the Assistant Coach and Fatawu Dauda, the Goalkeepers’ coach are fine and undergoing medical observation.
The trio’s vehicle was involved in an accident over the weekend while returning to Accra from monitoring a game between the Ghana Premier League champions and the MTN FA Cup champions in Tarkwa in the Western Region.
The FA’ statement explained, that the vehicle with registration number GR 6521-21 “avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck which veered off into its lane with some damage to the vehicle.”
“We are happy to report that all three members of the technical team are in stable condition and will undergo further medical assessments, as a precautionary measure, upon their return to Accra.”
The FA’ is optimistic that the three would be in a better condition to supervise the country’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
It added, “We appreciate the concern shown by the public and ask for your continued support and prayers as we prepare for these important matches.”
Ghana will face Angola on September 5 and Niger on September 9.
