AngloGold Partners Absa to Boost 40 Women-owned Businesses
AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, has partnered Absa Bank Ghana to promote the businesses of 40 selected female entrepreneurs in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The initiative is driven towards the empowerment of women by enhancing their online business capabilities and developing a supportive community for growth and collaboration.
It is part of their Women in e-Commerce project under its Enterprise and Skills Development Programme- a 10-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (SEDP)- that was launched in the community on Monday, August 13, 2024.
Project
Per this initiative, the selected entrepreneurs will be given the needed assistance and literacy to transition into the digital marketplace.
“Through training sessions, participants will learn how to effectively utilise various e-commerce platforms to reach a broader audience and increase sales,” a statement released by AngloGold said.
The project will also make them familiar with digital technology, a vital component for market acceleration.
“In this regard, the Obuasi Mine and Absa Bank Ghana will organise a series of workshops and mentorship opportunities to equip entrepreneurs with the skills necessary to adapt to rapidly changing digital landscapes to ensure they remain competitive and successful.”
Essence
This is envisioned to enhance networking and will facilitate the identification of networking opportunities, as well as collaboration among women entrepreneurs, allowing them to share best practices and learn from one another’s experiences.
