We’re Going to Win December Election- Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has no doubt the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will retain the Presidential seat after presenting an “excellent” pair for the ballot paper in the upcoming presidential elections.

The visibly elated President spilt his anticipation for a favourable outcome in the election after together with other members of the National Council, approved the selected Running mate of the party’s flagbearer.

He told the media, it is a done deal for the NPP.

“The NPP has an excellent ticket and we are going to win with this ticket in 2024, 7th of December. That’s the news. The feeling is good. They have a very good pair and they are going to win.”

Dr Opoku Prempeh, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency and the Energy Minister was on July 4, 2024, approved by the National Council of the party as the Running Mate.

The party said he meets all the criteria and requirements for the position.

He will be unveiled officially to Ghanaians on July 9, at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, the National Organiser of the NPP announced on Thursday.

The Energy Minister also reiterated his commitment to the objective of “Breaking the 8”- an objective whose feasibility is in doubt due to the NPP’s not-so-good performance after two terms in power.

In a statement released after his unanimous approval by the party’s National Council in Accra on Thursday, he said the task ahead required collective efforts to achieve.

“I understand that the task ahead requires our collective effort, and I, therefore, plead with every party member to come on board as we seek the mandate of our countrymen and women once again to serve them.”
