Hearts Board Dissolved
The nine-member Board of Directors of the Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has been dissolved, the club has announced.
This brings an end to the board headed by the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV who took over from Emmanuel Martey Commodore-Mensah 13 years ago.
A brief statement released by the club read, “THE HEARTS OF OAK BOARD IS DISSOLVED.”
An eleven-member board which was later reduced to nine constituted in 2011 included Thomas Esso, Alhaji Andani Alhassan, Ivy Heward Mills, Prof. Kofi Kumado, Alhaji Moro Brimah, Vincent Sowah-Odotei, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, Frank Nelson and Togbe Afede XIV.
It comes ahead of the postponed Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the club to March.
Togbe Afede earlier alluded to a new board taking over the club earlier this month saying, “In March this year, there will be the AGM and Hearts of Oak board will be reconstituted.”
This forms part of the major revolution taking place in the club. On February 18, the club announced the appointment of Mr. Delali Anku-Adiamah as the Managing Director and Aboubakar Ouattara as Head Coach.
Fans of the club had since 2015 called for the head of the Board to no avail. The recent was during a demonstration last week.
The club would later today release details about the dissolution and the successors.
