NTC Discredits Ad Promising Upgrade In Licensure Exam Results
The National Teaching Council (NTC) has discredited the authenticity of a circular on social media promising to alter the results of persons who failed in the recent Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
It characterized the information as false, misleading, and fraudulent in a press statement.
“It has come to the attention of the National Teaching Council (NTC) that a fraudulent public announcement has been circulating, claiming changes in the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination result from failure to pass is possible. NTC categorically denies the authenticity of such information.”
It added that the result remains the same and has not been altered.
“The National Teaching Council has not made any changes to the examination results. The published results remain valid and any announcements suggesting alterations to the results are false, misleading, and should be treated as fraudulent.”
Meanwhile, it said it had instructed a probe into the source of the message.
The NTC also called on the public to verify all information relating to the GTLE on their various official social media platforms and websites.
“Candidates are advised to verify information only through the official NTC communication channels, including our official website and authorized social media accounts.”
The results of the 2023 GTLE were released on December 21.
Out of the 20,181 teachers who sat for the exam, 47.4% comprising 9,556 trained teachers failed to meet the pass mark.
