Kalo Ouattara Attributes Kotoko’s Win to Communication
New signing Kalo Ouattara has attributed Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s last-minute win against Accra Hearts of Lions to effective communication, marking their first win of the season.
The former Brekum Chelsea forward found the net when it seemed the match would end in a goalless draw.
In an interview with the club’s media, he said, “I gave Sherif signal when he was going to take the corner, he discerned and kicked the ball to me in the manner I wanted. It all boils down to communication.”
After winning a series of free kicks against Accra Lions on Monday, the goal drought was finally broken in the 96th minute when Ouattara’s header from a free kick found the back of the net.
This victory marks the Porcupines’ first win in four games, having recorded a loss, a win, and two draws.
In their previous three matches, they played to a goalless draw against Accra Lions, suffered a 2-1 loss against Bibiani Gold Stars, and had a 1-1 draw against Karela United.
Entering Monday’s game at the bottom of the league table with two points, their win against the Lions in their second head-to-head match has pushed them to the 10th position in the table.
Kotoko now hold five points.
