Fan Milk Recalls Some Batches Of FanYogo
The manufacturer and distributor of FanYogo, Fan Milk PLC, has recalled some batches of the product from the market following complaints by a section of consumers.
Some consumers earlier this week took to social media to complain about the unusual texture of the product tagging the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to take disciplinary measures against the company.
Some described the product as “poison”.
“Food and Drugs Authority Ghana so you mean to tell us you haven’t seen our complaints on the poison FanYogo Ghana is selling to the public???,” a Facebook user by the name Prissy Ekua Adiepena Hemans captioned a video of a sample of the melted product.
Another posted, “Dear Food and Drugs Authority Ghana , I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to bring to your attention the concern that many people, including myself, have regarding the type of product that FanMilk Ghana is selling as yogurt.
“It is important to ensure that the products we consume are safe and healthy for our bodies. I kindly request that you investigate this matter and take appropriate action to protect the public. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
In reaction to these concerns and more, the manufacturer said a series of tests run on the products in question confirmed their safety.
“Importantly, our expert team has confirmed that the above batches are safe for consumption. In addition, we engaged the Food Research Institute (FRI) to conduct an independent test which also confirmed that despite the variation in texture, the product is still safe to consume.”
