Preparation Time Wasn’t Enough; Coach After Ghana’s FIBA U16 Qualifier Kick-out
The head coach of Ghana’s Under 16 National Basketball Team, Lawal Brimah has blamed limited preparation time for their knockout from FIBA U-16 African qualifiers.
The country’s male and female teams all lost to their opponents last Friday.
Nigeria thrashed their Ghanaian female counterparts by a 52-11 point difference while the Ghanaian team lost 68-65 to Cote d’Ivoire in the boy’s category.
Justifying their performance, Coach Brimah said they weren’t given enough time to prepare.
“This is the first time we are hosting such a championship but unfortunately the time for our preparation was not enough. I think it took about one week to prepare for this championship. If we had even one month to prepare for this championship, I think things won’t be as they are now.
“So given the time limit that we used to train for this championship, I really appreciate the boys because they have done a great job,” he is quoted as saying.
