NPP Finds Kumawu By-election Turn-out Impressive
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been impressed by the turn-out of electorates at its stronghold for Tuesday’s by-election.
The Kumawu constituency elected a new Parliamentary representative yesterday to fill the vacant seat left by Hon Philp Basoah who passed on in March this year.
The Speaker of Parliament had written to the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana to notify it about the vacancy created after which the EC later announced May 23 for the by-election.
On Tuesday, the EC recorded a 63% turnout in the by-election, a development the NPP finds “impressive”.
The Director of Communication of the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah in a social media post said that shows their stronghold is firmly theirs.
“The impressive 63% turnout in the Kumawu bye-election suggests the NPP is as strong as ever in its stronghold.”
