Niger President Invites Asantehene
The President of Niger, His Excellency Mohamed Bazoum, has extended an invitation to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for a visit.
The invitation was extended through the Nigerienne Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mrs Lamido Salamatou Bala Goga.
The envoy who had just returned from the Republic of Niger visited the Palace of the King in Kumasi on Wednesday, May 17 to inform him about the President’s intent to host him.
“The President is very very happy and is going to do everything within his power to welcome you at your level and rank,” she said through a translator.
The King in his submission expressed his willingness to visit the West African country and thereby accepted the invite.
Expressing his appreciation for the invitation, Otumfuo emphasised his hope for the engagement to birth mutually beneficial projects.
“As I go to a sister country, yes it’s a visit, it should bring some benefit to inure to our mutual benefit. If {there is} any areas of investment we can think of and collaborate on.”
In October 2022 when the Ambassador visited the Palace, she expressed the country’s eagerness to host the King on a visit.
Though plans are still underway for the visit of the Monarch, opemsuo.com understands it will take place between the end of May and the middle of June.
This comes barely a week since Asantehene returned from a working visit to the United Kingdom (UK).
