Broda Sammy Justifies Twerking Advert For Album Launch
Ghanaian gospel artiste Broda Sammy has stated that his decision to use twerking woman to promote his album launch was not done out of mischief.
According to him, it was meant to entice “perishing” souls to the event for their eventual salvation.
The gospel musician came under backlash days ago after he released a video of a woman twerking and inviting the public to the album launch.
One of his critics was entertainment pundit, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo.
During an edition on United Showbiz, he described the action of the musician as “foolishness”.
“If we were in the ancient times when God wasn’t so forgiven, he would have been struck to death because you cannot do this in the house of the Lord. It is abominable,” said Baidoo
Reacting to the criticisms, Broda Sammy defended his action.
“There are people who were born in Christianity who have never gone wayward. How will such persons win souls for Christ?” he asked. “There are others who go wayward before they are touched by God so that they will be able to win souls. This is because they’ve been there before and have the knowledge and experience to win them.”
He continued, “She (the advertiser) didn’t advertise to invite pastors but people like herself. In the video, she said she is going to use her body to praise God.”
He also took offence to the comment by Arnold, however, the entertainment journalist maintained that the action of the musician was wrong.
