Media Practitioners advised to be Ethical to avoid Legal Tussle
Mr. Samuel A. Fenbeti (Esquire), a Law Lecturer and Vice Dean of Greenfield College in Kumasi has advised Media Practitioners to abide by Journalistic Ethics to avoid personal and financial consequences in the discharge of their duties.
According to the Legal Practitioner, Media which is the Fourth Estate is empowered to check the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. He however says if the Media fail to discharge their duties diligently “it turns out to be the other way round, which becomes toxic and deadly to everyone”.
Speaking at a two day workshop for Media Practitioners drawn from the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions on “Digital Content Creation to support Women Enterprises”, he advised Media practitioners both in the Traditional or new (Social) Media space to work by the laid down ethics and be professional to be able to work without fear or favor.
Mr. George Antwi-Boasiako the Chief Executive Officer of Agrico Hub revealed that the Media Training formed part of an ongoing project dubbed “Accelerating Women Enterprises for Local Economic Development” which will directly benefit over a hundred people and therefore called on all Stakeholders to make it a success.
