Tears Flow As Burnt Police Officer, Wife, Baby Laid To Rest
It was a moment of deep sorrow, grief, tears and pains as the mortal remains of the late Gen Sergeant Owusu Asante Baafi, the Police officer with the Anti Robbery Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Ashanti Regional Command was laid to rest.
He was buried alongside his wife, Millicent Akyaa Agyei and their four-month-old baby, Samuel Kwabena Baafi Nyamedo, who suffered the same fate on Saturday 28th January 2023 at Adomfe in the Asante Akyem South District.
The three were killed in a gruesome fire that swept through their apartment at Apromase in the Ejisu Municipality on Sunday 13th January 2023.
Mourners wept uncontrollably seeing the caskets of the three displayed at the funeral grounds for the final passage.
The funeral rite was attended by the Assin Central MP and Presidential candidate hopeful, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, former Chairman of the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), the Asante Akyem South District Chief Executive, Alexander Frimpong among other dignitaries as well as families, friends, and sympathizers.
It was massively attended by the top hierarchy of the Police Service led by COP Nathan Kofi Boakye and a host of police personnel.
