Rotary Club Of Kumasi Inducts New Members

The Kumasi chapter of Rotary Club has inducted nine (9) new members (Rotarians) to the club in order to further the club’s mission of serving the community via several humanitarian activities.


The ceremony took place over the weekend at the Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel, formerly called the Golden Tulip Kumasi City.

 

According to the President of Rotary Club, Kumasi, RP Derrick, the ceremony is very remarkable as it will go a long way to increase the membership of the club of Rotarians towards impacting society.

“Tonight, we’ve inducted nine new prospects and as Rotarians what we do is that we serve the community, we do humanitarian things. So basically these people who have joined us will help us do good to society and also give our best to society. In Rotary, there are basic areas of focus which is education, maternal health, conflict, and disease prevention, so basically what we did tonight was awesome. Having nine new Rotarians joining the club is something remarkable and we must say that Rotary Club of Kumasi continues to grow in strength, and we are hoping that come next Rotary year, we shall increase our numbers and we shall impact the society.”, he said.

The 2 times President of the club, PP Kofi Addo in an interview stated that the induction ceremony which took place on December 17, was the “single largest induction done in the club for the past 20 years” and encouraged the inductees to bring their friends on board to support the larger course.

Lawyer Kofi Addo (PP) also outlined ways one can become a member of the Rotary Club.

“You can become a Rotarian if you visit our club a number of times and then you show commitment to our call service to the community, and then you are able to pay for your dues”.

The Director of Membership for the Rotary Club of Kumasi, PP Prempeh also called for more professionals to register and be part Rotary Club and continue to embark on project expansion to make society a better place to live.

Some newly inducted Rotarians of the Kumasi chapter expressed their joy and their utmost commitment to solving societal problems with Rotary.

 

“I am very very happy to be inducted as a Rotarian. I have been urging to be a Rotarian for years and it been a reality to today has met one of my happy moments. Being a Rotarian is a fantastic thing you can achieve”, Rotarian Ken expressed appreciation.

“I have not been in Rotary for long but I’ve really enjoyed the company and the partnership. The new people I have met, everybody seems to be loving and welcoming and it makes the club very enjoyable”, Rotarian Besiwa said.

“In fact, I am very excited to be part of the club and I will utilise my time and resources to move Rotary forward”, Rotarian Asor said.


The Rotary Club of Kumasi is the 2nd oldest Rotary club in Ghana, it is an association of business and professional leaders who strives to promote goodwill, peace, and understanding around the world by performing community service and promoting ethics. It is an organisation that is neither political nor religious”.

The new inductees are Rotarian Ken, Rotarian Ruth, Rotarian Edem, Rotarian Besiwa, Rotarian Asor, Rotarian Ike, Rotarian Gifty, Rotarian Brooks and Rotarian Laequ. The event was climaxed with dinner and fundraising.
