Akufo-Addo In UK
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is currently in the United Kingdom on a private visit.
This was communicated in a statement from the Jubilee House.
His current trip came barely 72 hours after he returned from a trip to Egypt and the United States on Friday, November 11.
For his current trip, the Jubilee House says President Akufo-Addo left the country for London on Sunday, November 13, 2022, and is expected to be back on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
He is said to be on a private visit.
“President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Wednesday, 16th November 2022, and, in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead,” the Jubilee House added.
He left the country on Saturday, November 5, 2022, to attend the United Nations (UN)’s 27th Conference of the Parties (COP) in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt where he delivered five (5) separate statements on efforts Ghana is making to protect her forest and oceans, on sustainable energy and the energy transition, and participated in the Africa Adaption Acceleration Summit, being held on the sidelines of the COP 27.
On November 10, he chaired a High-Level UN Security Council debate convened by Ghana, as part of the programme of work for Ghana’s Presidency of the Council for November in New York.
