September Salaries Of Some Workers Withheld
The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) has announced the suspension of the salaries of some government workers on its payroll.
These workers, it said, have discrepant information with that of the Government of Ghana’s payroll system.
Others are said to have invalid bank account numbers.
These anomalies surfaced after the CAGD conducted a Quality Assurance and other validation processes.
In a letter, it said, “As a result of Quality Assurance and other validation processes Controller and Accountant General’s Department, there has been the need to suspend the payment of September 2022 salaries of some employees whose bank names mismatch with that of the GoG payroll system whiles others had invalid bank account numbers”.
Employees with mismatched bank names have been directed to visit the Payroll Coordination Unit of the CAGD for correction.
Such are to submit their appointment letter, current posting letter, National Identification card, Pay slip for the last three months and a voided cheque leaflet of their bank account together with a letter from his /her MDA.
For those with wrong bank account numbers, the CAGD said, they should visit the PPSs to update with the correct bank account number.
