Parliament Approves Loan For Suame Interchange, Other Projects
The Parliament of Ghana has today, July 20, 2022, approved a syndicated loan of seven hundred and fifty million United States dollars ($750m) for eleven projects including the Suame Interchange.
The Suame interchange and Local Road Network project is estimated to cost $47 million.
The loan facility is an agreement between the government of Ghana and the African Export-Import Bank.
After a debate in parliament about the bill, it was voted for approval.
The projects to be financed by the loan facility includes; the Ofankor-Nsawam road; Ejisu-Konongo road, completion of the Nsawan Apedwa road project; Suame Interchange and Local Road Network Project; completion of Flower Pot Interchange at Legon; Completion of Sofoline Interchange and Construction of Kwabenya-Peduase Road Project.
Also are the completion of Eastern Corridor Lots 5 and 6; completion of Enkyikrom-Adawso road project; Purchase of rolling stock and spare parts, and the construction of Stadia for All Africa Games.
