Okoe Boye Adopts Transformational Strategies For NHIA
The Chief Executive Officer for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Bernard Okoe Boye has adopted five key strategies to transform the scheme.
The five strategies also called the 5Ds to include Digitisation, Development, Dissemination, Data and Decentralisation.
The NHIA seeks to digitise the “every possible” process, accelerate the uptake of electronic claims submission, vetting and payment. It looks forward to a paperless working environment and the introduction of mobile application and dashboards.
Under Development, the NHIA looks at both human and physical development. It says it will conduct regular training and capacity building for staff as well as the development of physical infrastructure to enhance operations.
Additionally, it will market the scheme to all stakeholders through the dissemination of relevant and timely information for greater appeal, understanding and ownership of the NHIS.
When it comes to data, NHIA says it will harness and analyse data and institutionalise its sharing for better decision-making.
“Empower regions and districts to undertake enhanced administrative and financial roles with appropriate controls and supervision”, it said.
