2025 AFCONQ: We’ll Beat Sudan Away- Otto Addo
From his observation in the first leg, Head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo is confident beyond reasonable doubt that his men will take home a win against Sudan in their next encounter which is a few days away.
Speaking to the media after their goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, he said luck eluded his team in the game as they squandered golden chances despite their improved and delightful output.
“I think everybody saw that we played well. It’s just really, really bad luck…I think we deserved to win, but we didn’t. And we will stay positive, and we will beat them away. With the same performance, the same passion, the same creativity up front, we will beat them away.”
“The spirit was good, the passion was there, the defensive discipline was there, they’re just about to finish the action, that’s all. Sudan was very lucky today. Next time we see them in Libya, they won’t be lucky, then we will, that’s all,” he added.
Otto is determined to work on the finishing of the team to make them better at scoring before the next game to produce the desired results.
“We will try our best. And I know that at the end we’ll be rewarded. And the positive thing is, what I want to tell you, all of you, it’s still in our own hands. We have to win the next game, that’s all. And then still, we are not qualified yet. Then it’s still a long way. It’s going to be very, very tough to the last match, I think. But we will do it. With this performance, again, we will do it in Libya, against Sudan.”
As it stands, Ghana are third in Group F with two points. Undefeated Angola are leading the group with six points from two games, followed by Sudan with four points. Niger are bottom with one point.
Niger and Angola will face off today in Matchday three, October 11.
The return leg for Ghana will be played in Libya on October 15, 2024.
